The year is 1890 and old friends and Oxford undergrads Charley and Jack find themselves madly in love with Amy and Kitty and ready to take that all-important next step but they hit a roadblock when they have to organize a properly chaperoned proposal for their respectable ladies. A perfect chaperone suddenly presents herself in the form of Charley’s wealthy aunt from Brazil, whom he finds out is on her way for a visit. When Charley’s Aunt is delayed, the boys don’t want to sacrifice their opportunity, so there is only one choice: dress their friend Lord Francourt Babberley in drag and send him in to lunch as Aunt Lucia! Mistaken identity and young love abounds, chaos ensues, and comic confusion reigns supreme in this uproarious comedy that celebrates the fun, foibles, and farcical potential of young love!
